Hi, My name is Al Kovacs. My email is
My cell number is 412-735-4320.
I am contacting you to introduce myself and inform you that I will be coaching your child in the Montour Youth Baseball League’s Developmental Program this Spring. I am looking forward to meeting you and having a safe, fun season together. My wife Lauren will also be coaching and helping out this year.
This is our 2nd year coaching for Montour Youth Baseball. Our son Sawyer will be playing on our team this year along with your child.
Our goal this spring is to teach baseball fundamentals, get kids interested in the game and, most importantly, to have fun! If you are able to volunteer to help out, please let me know – the more help we have, the more we can accomplish with the kids.
Our first practice will be this Monday, March 21st at 6:30. We play at the T Ball field at Fairhaven park. It is by the candy stand that says Tony Laquinta Field, and is to the left of the batting cage. We generally go for a half hour to 45 minutes.
Our start is dependent on weather, so please be patient with the field conditions and the rain. Also, March and April weather can sometimes be chilly, so dress accordingly. Games will likely begin in mid-April and last through the early part of June. I will let you know when the game schedule comes out. We will have uniforms provided to us before the season starts.
For equipment, each player should have their own glove, helmet, and bat.
As for current Covid-19 protocols, league will continually monitor local/state/CDC guidelines and adjust accordingly.
I will be away the week of April 9th to April 16th. I will have to cancel practice for that week unless another coach would be available.
If you have any questions or comments about anything, please do not hesitate to reach out to me through the league website, email, call me, or text. And lastly, please respond back to this email individually (rather than as a group reply) to let me know that you received it.
I want to thank you in advance for your cooperation, and I look forward to enjoying this baseball season with you all.
